The article examines the development processes of the land market in the post-reform period on the example of the Central Industrial Region of Russia. Particular attention is paid to identifying general patterns, determining the class composition of the participants and the degree of their involvement in trade relations in the land market. For a thirty-year period from 1863 to 1892, an analysis of transactions for the purchase and sale of land made by representatives of the noble, merchant, peasant and bourgeois estates was carried out. The volumes of the turnover of their land holdings have been determined. Investigated the change in the size of the plots sold and bought by these estates.
