This article examines a range of measures to protect forests in Russia from fires. Modern developments enable monitoring forest fire conditions, which helps prevent fires and minimize their consequences. However, each technology has its limitations. Satellite systems provide monitoring of large forest areas and allow for assessing the rate of fire spread, but their effectiveness is reduced in poor visibility. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are also used, but their capabilities are limited by wind loads, range, and operational time. Aircraft, such as helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, can cover large areas, quickly detecting fire outbreaks.
